The name "Ad Hoc," meaning "for this purpose," reflects the restaurant’s original intent: to temporarily occupy a space while Chef Keller’s team worked on a different restaurant concept. However, Ad Hoc quickly became a beloved favorite, drawing both Napa Valley locals and wine country visitors. What was meant to be a temporary venture soon became a permanent fixture on Washington Street, joining Chef Keller’s other renowned properties in Yountville, CA.
